Antiquing

No, I haven’t forgotten about my blog! While I have tried to average at least two posts a month, we have gotten to some large projects right now that won’t be done for a while, so that leaves me with little to post about other than small, much less satisfying, things.

That being said – summertime is the time for vacationing! And while normal people do things like fishing, hiking, or swimming, we like to go antiquing! On a family vacation in Maryland last weekend, we came across many new flea markets and thrift stores, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to look for some new items.

We came back with four new pieces for the house, and spend a grand total of $78 on all of it.

Shiny toaster for the kitchen! Too shiny, actually. It was really difficult to get a good picture.

Vases from circa 1920-1940. The white one was only $2 because it had been cracked and repaired. I’ll take that all day long!

Vase with flowers is even better

Yep. We hauled this back from Maryland in the back of my Hyundai. We are hardcore.

Finding the right pieces to round out the decor of a room is always very important, and we are always on the lookout for new old things to make our space even more beautiful. Who needs Ikea? A thrift store is always the best bet!
