New Bathroom Ceiling!

It has been a few weeks since the last post – not because we haven’t been productive (we have!), but last weekend was Labor Day, and we had so many plans. Such grand plans. And we were very productive for about… one day. Then we caught the flu. Both of us, at the same time. Let me tell you, there is not much more miserable than the only two people in a home being sick at the same time!

So, we have both been recovering this whole week. In fact, it’s a good thing you aren’t standing here right now, because I’d be coughing on you. It’s been miserable and sapped all of my blogging energy. Boo!

Now that I’m feeling a little better, here are some photos of a project that was finished over the past few weeks. Our bathroom ceiling. It was scary. A very scary ceiling.

At least we are going for a… um…. rustic look?

Whoa!

Ya gotta know when to hold em, and when to fold em. In this case, it was fold. Putting in a new ceiling is simply beyond our current abilities. So, we got a handyman friend to do it for us! Yay! Check out the shiny results.

Oooo…. ahhh…

Pretty….

What a great job! It looks so much better now. Also, no mold! Turns out that no one in the last 100 years bothered to install a fan in the bathroom, so this is probably why the old ceiling was crumbling down. Our handyman friend will help us install an exhaust fan, as well as help to fix the walls that are raunchy from years of bad patch jobs.

Unfortunately, when he was finishing the ceiling over Labor Day, we gave him the flu. Ooops. If you want things done, it is a bad idea to give your helper the flu!! So, those projects will wait for completion in the near future.

We finished a few more things over the past weeks, so stay tuned for more updates shortly!
